About Me
Laura Harrison
Child & Adolescent Mental Health Coach
I’ve always been fascinated by what makes us human and how our minds work. That curiosity led me to study Psychology at A Level and then Experimental Psychology at Oxford University, where I focused on neurophysiology (how the brain works) and completed a dissertation in child development.
Since becoming a parent, my passion has deepened into child mental health, family relationships, and understanding the rise of anxiety in young people. This inspired me to qualify as a Mental Health Coach, so I could support children and families more directly.
My approach is child-centred, strengths-based, neuro-affirming, and evidence-based. I meet each child and family where they are, helping everyone feel understood and empowered. Grounded in a positive parenting philosophy, I aim to enable children to thrive and parents to feel confident and supported in bringing out the best in themselves and their families.
I find working with young people inspiring and rewarding—they often teach me as much as I teach them. My happiest moments come from seeing children grow in confidence and resilience, and parents feeling calmer, more connected, and better equipped for family life.
Outside of my coaching work, I love being outdoors and exploring nature. I run a conservation charity, and I also enjoy running for balance and headspace. Most importantly, I’m a proud parent of three children—Josie, Ted, and Robbie—who are my biggest motivation to be my best self (and my daily reminder to use my own calming tools!).
